Words From The
Chamber President – Jim Binns
If you asked fifty people
to explain the role of the Sabine County Chamber of
Commerce you would probably get fifty different
answers. The truth is, the Chamber has many different
functions but I think the three most important are –
- Doing everything
possible to promote business development
- Acting as a liaison
in bringing good communication throughout not only
our local business community but also with
organizations throughout the county, and
- Helping to provide
a positive economic growth through Tourism and
Retirement.
Today’s issues offer many
challenges, but I assure you that we also have many
great opportunities. Our Board of Directors realize
that the community has high expectations of our actions
and we want to do everything possible to meet those
expectations.
Folks looking for a great
place to visit or retire will fall in love with our
majestic pine forests, small town atmosphere and
moderate climate. Beautiful Toledo Bend Lake that joins
Texas and Louisiana offers 1200 miles of shoreline and
some of the best fishing in the nation. Add to this the
opportunity for boating, skiing, birding, camping,
visiting sites rich in history and you have something
really special!
Drop by and visit with the
folks at the Chamber because they welcome any ideas that
you may have. The Board has its monthly meeting at the
Chamber office on the second Tuesday of each month at
5:30pm and it is open to the public. Call the Chamber office for more information
(409-787-2732).
I would urge everyone to
participate and help your Chamber grow.
